Revlon CEO Sued for Alleged Racist & Anti-Semitic Comments

Halle Berry for Revlon - BellaNaija - January 2015
The Chief Executive Officer of beauty brand Revlon, Lorenzo Delpani, is being sued by Alan Meyers, a former colleague, for alleged racist and anti-semitic comments.

In the lawsuit,  Meyers , a scientist, is also accusing Delpani for firing him because he raised concerns about the safety of some of Revlon’s products. He is also claiming that his ex-CEO often ridiculed his Jewish heritage, and made various racist comments, Huffington Post reports.

Some of the examples of Delpani’s purported racist comments included: Stating that he could “smell a black person when he entered a room” during a trip to South Africa; describing Americans as “small-minded” and “dirty” and comparing the US to ISIS.

Meyers also went on to describe his ordeal during the time he worked with Revlon, stating that he was once asked to hold an easel which covered his entire upper body during a half hour presentation, and was often screamed at and ridiculed in the presence of co-workers.

Speaking on the allegations, Revlon reps have stated that Meyers is a “disgruntled employee” and had “repeatedly demonstrated critical lapses in judgment and failed to perform at the high standard we demand of our employees”.

Delpani is yet to release a statement on the allegations.
