Popular TV Show Big Bang Theory At Risk Of Getting Cancelled

Things aren't looking too good over at The Big Bang Theory as of late.

Production for season eight of the No. 1 show on television is supposed to get started on July 30th. Except for the small issue that five of the seven lead actors still haven't renewed their contracts!

Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg, and Kunal Nayyar are all currently without contracts, despite CBS picking up the sitcom for an additional three seasons after last May's finale.

The reason the cast, specifically those portraying Sheldon, Penny, and Leonard, is waiting to sign on the dotted line is money.

For season seven of the show, the three leads were each making $350,000 an episode, which sounds like a lot to us, but isn't that much considering how much Warner Bros. must make from ad sales alone.

To put that into some context, for the seventh and eighth seasons of Friends, each of the six actors was getting $750,000 per episode. So, it's not entirely confusing as to why the stars of the most watched show currently on the air want a bit of a pay raise.

However, if there's a shroud of silver lining, it's that Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch are still under contract. Two out of seven ain't bad, right?

CBS had enough confidence in the show after seven years to renew it for three more, so we're confident that the cast and the bosses behind the show will sort this problem out.

Will everything be fine in two weeks by the July 30th deadline? That's another story.
