Brazil's dreams of making a return to a World Cup final in the Maracana were shattered in the most agonising manner as Germany inflicted on the hosts one of the most remarkable defeats in the 84-year history of this competition.

Yael Cohen, the founder of Fuck Cancer, married Justin Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun in a star-studded Whistler ceremony over the weekend.
According to celebrity website TMZ, the couple wed in front of a crowd that included actors Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson and Sophia Bush, and singers Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber and Carly Rae Jepsen.
When Braun kissed his tanned bride, who was wearing a strapless mermaid-style weddding dress with a long train, Bieber -- sitting toward the back of the group assembled for the outdoor wedding -- broke into song.

WorldCup Drama: Nurse Fired for Filming Neymar in Hospital

The nurse has been criticized for not only recording the football star in that state but also for blowing kisses to the camera afterwards and laughing. She then posted the video to her Facebook page. Personally, I don't see how this is a big deal but the hospital management released a statement saying the nurse, named Chintia, has been fired. See the video below...
The life of a jihadi wife: Why one Canadian woman joined Iraq and Syria Islamic state
![]() |
Taha Shade, a Palestinian living in Sweden, adopted the name Abu Ibrahim al-Suedi when he joined the jihadist uprising in Syria. He married Canadian Umm Haritha in late 2013, but was killed by a rival jihadi in May 2014. (Facebook)
|
Within a week she was in Syria, and a few weeks later she was married to Abu Ibrahim al-Suedi, a 26-year-old Palestinian from Sweden fighting for Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), the Sunni jihadist group battling the Syrian regime.
It is not clear whether Umm Haritha's marriage to Abu Ibrahim was arranged before her travel to Syria. Regardless, it only lasted five months.
On May 5, Abu Ibrahim, whose real name is Taha Shade, was in a car en route to a meeting in Deir ez-Zor with members of rival faction Jabhat al-Nusra. What was meant to be a gathering to finalize a peace treaty between ISIS and al-Nusra turned deadly when an al-Nusra fighter on a motorbike sped up to Shade’s car and detonated his explosive belt.
At the time, Shade was wearing his own explosive belt, which also went off and blew him to pieces.
Two days later, Umm Haritha tweeted about her husband’s death, calling on “Allah” to “destroy those who backstabbed the brothers and resurrect Abu Ibrahim with noor [light] from every piece of his body.”
Umm Haritha’s journey to Syria highlights an underreported part of the western Jihadist experience in Syria.
While the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation (ICSR) has estimated that up to 2,800 Western men have gone to Syria to fight, much less is known about the Western women who have gone over to marry jihadists since the Syrian civil war began three years ago.

Farewell to Football Legend Alfredo Di Stefano at 88
Legendary Argentine star Alfredo Di Stefano has passed away at the age of 88.
The club released an official statement on Monday, which read:
Real Madrid C. F. regrets to announce that its Honorary President, Alfredo Di Stéfano, passed away today at 17:15 in the General Universitario Gregorio Marañón Hospital in Madrid. The President of Real Madrid C. F., Florentino Pérez, and the club’s Board of Directors would like to express their deepest sympathy and affection to his children, family and friends. Real Madrid C. F. extends these condolences to Madrid fans around the world and anyone who feels moved by the loss of the greatest player of all time. The President of Real Madrid C. F. will appear in the Santiago Bernabéu today at 19:00.Di Stefano's impact on football can't even be quantified. It could be argued that no one player—even Pele or Diego Maradona—has a larger footprint in the sport's history than Di Stefano.
He first made his name in South America with River Plate and then Millonarios during the "El Dorado" era of Colombian football. After winning three league titles with the Colombian side, he moved on to Real Madrid, where helped determine the trajectory of European football for good.
While Di Stefano isn't solely responsible, he's one of the biggest reasons Real Madrid are a world power in the game. Two seasons after Di Stefano's arrival, Los Blancos won the European Cup and proceeded to win the next four.
Santiago Bernabeu was a visionary ahead of his time, but more than anything else, those five European titles helped put Real Madrid at the apex of the club game, a position from which they haven't fallen.

Pink Floyd lyricist Polly Samson, who is also guitarist and singer David Gilmour's wife, casually dropped the news on Twitter.
In a tweet Saturday, Samson wrote that new record is “based on 1994 sessions” and described the project as “Rick Wright's swansong.”
Wright, Pink Floyd’s founding keyboardist, died of cancer in 2008 at age 65.

WorldCup Drama: The Heavy Loss of Neymar
![]() |
| Marcelo went to the aid of his teammate Neymar, who sustained a fractured vertebra when he took a knee in the back from Colombia’s Juan Camilo Zúñiga. Credit Leonhard Foeger/Reuters |
Yet within any game, there is always a road map to every flash point. The beauty of soccer’s continuous flow is that one thing leads to another (and another and another), and that makes it possible to trace a path to a game’s most memorable moment. In a game like Friday’s, doing so makes it easier to see where things went wrong.
So what happened to Neymar? How did the face of this tournament end up in a hospital? Brazilian fans will not like to hear it, but while Zúñiga was directly responsible for causing Neymar’s injury, Neymar’s teammates — specifically Fernandinho, though there were others — as well as the referee, Carlos Velasco Carballo, deserve their share of the blame, too. They did not commit the crime, but they contributed to an environment of lawlessness that led to Neymar’s being battered.
If that sounds harsh, consider that Brazil’s coach, Luiz Felipe Scolari, made a point of saying before the game that there was no historical rivalry between Brazil and Colombia and that games between the teams were “friendly matches.”

King Djokovic Survives Federer Test, Wins Second Wimbledon
Novak Djokovic
ended his Grand Slam drought and Roger Federer's hopes of a record eighth
Wimbledon title with a thrilling five-set victory.
The Serb, 27, came through 6-7 (7-9) 6-4 7-6 (7-4) 5-7 6-4 to win his second Wimbledon and seventh Grand Slam title.
After letting a championship point slip in the fourth set, he won Wimbledon's first five-set final since 2009.
Djokovic had lost his previous three major finals, and will now reclaim the number one ranking from Rafael Nadal.
After losing the fourth set it wasn't easy to go on and win the fifth set, I don't know how I did it," Djokovic told BBC Sport.
"This is the best tournament in the world and the one I always wanted to win so to be able to compete at such a high level I am so grateful."
Federer, 32, had hoped to surpass Pete Sampras with an eighth title and become the oldest winner in modern times.
The Swiss was willed on by much of the 15,000-strong crowd throughout the final, with chants of "Roger! Roger!" ringing around Centre Court when he reeled off five successive games from 5-2 down in the fourth set.
But Djokovic recovered his nerve to fend off break points in the decider and clinch a dramatic win after three hours and 56 minutes, before kneeling on the turf and eating some grass - just as he had done after winning in 2011.
He then headed into the stands to celebrate with his team, including three-time Wimbledon champion Boris Becker, brought in by Djokovic at the start of the year to help end his run of 18 months without a major win.

Rape is a Gangster, Lets Fight this
GANG RAPE, GANGSTER AND MS. PEPPLES. PART 2
TEMPERATE DISPOSITIONS
My hands still stretches high and my arms flown wide as I enjoin you to carry with me the flag across the continents –‘IF YOU CANNOT MAKE HER, DON’T RAPE HER’. In temperate dispositions I look deeper at the different angles and shades of the notorious enmity that has torn humanity apart ‘RAPE’. We have been violated, molested, ripped, despoiled and defiled. We need a savior! It appears we have law and order and governed by Ms. Pepples but she has not risen to the responsibility of her mandate. ‘We are alone’
THE WORLD OF MS. PEPPLES
I observed Ms. Pepples detached from the all the factors of modernization that is alien to our fundamental norms and belief system. For instance many rapist are drawn to the idea by what they have seen or been exposed to (pornography). The government is akin to hermit meme, ‘they can do all they like but that is not my business, this tea is good’. How much is the government making from the pornography industry that it has limited or no regulations and consequently, allowed the cinematic ‘rape’ violence and lurid pornographic sequences in those movies, even mainstream release backfired on the society. I wonder sometimes if the law want a real solution or the lawmakers are afraid it is coming back to them.
Ms. Pepples is not concerned, even when houses are burning or a tsunami is blowing the neighbors backyard, so far it is not in her corner. I would imagine the government approach to rape and sexual violence if it happened to the daughter of Barack Obama, Stephen Harper or David Cameron. Not sure which of them has daughters, Google should know. Ms. Pepples is never alarmed unless a member of her house is crossed. She will never intervene, but how long would she wait before the narrative of her story change unexpectedly.
National consciousness is raped as government (who should represent the law) pay lip service to put this menace to bed, once lady Pepples pay a little more attention and take decisive action, there will be even orderliness. For beginner’s, criminalize all forms of rape and sexual violence (marital rape, child rape, necrophilia, aggravated rape, child marriage, genital mutilation, marriage by abduction, custodial rape… casting couches), then lets know which devil is the bravest. We all have right to bodily integrity and right to self-determination, we just need Ms Pepples to enforce this legislation and not merely sighted in print. Before I proceed further, allow me to recant another experience of a rape victim.

Never Give Up, Stay on Purpose
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit-
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a fellow turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up
Whe he might have captured the victor's cup;
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint in the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It might be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.
Animals Slayer Kendall Jones Bell by Facebook, Enraged Lovers and Starts TV Show
A Texas teenager has animal rights activists seething this week as photos of her posing with the corpses of "big-game" animals like lions, tigers and elephants spread across the web — photos she proudly took after killing the creatures herself in an effort to become a television star.
Kendall Jones, 19, describes herself on Twitter as "a huntress, conservationist, and sportsman looking to host a TV show in 2015."
According to her Facebook fan page "Kendall Takes Wild", which currently boasts over 200,000 members, the Texas Tech University student has been hunting animals in Africa with her father since childhood.

Facebook has removed some photographs of a Texas teenager posing with freshly killed animals she hunted during a recent safari in South Africa that had been criticized by users as inappropriate, the company said on Wednesday.

Kendall Jones, 19, a cheerleader at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, set off a social media storm after she posted a series of photos of animals she killed, smiling in one picture as she hugs a lifeless leopard hanging limply from her arms.

David Luiz WorldCup Sportmanship is Epic

Colombia’s stellar campaign at the World Cup has come to an end after their 2-1 loss against Brazil in the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup, and that means the tournament’s best player until now James Rodriguez has to pack his bags too.
The 22-year-old couldn’t bear the thought of that, and ultimately broke into tears as he had worked so hard, scoring six goals from five matches in the tournament, to keep Colombia’s hopes alive. But, David Luiz, who had earlier scored the winning goal from a free-kick intervened, consoling the young midfielder and also calling out the crowd to give Rodriguez a standing ovation.
Talking to reporters following the match, James Rodriguez said, “He told me I was a good player. The truth is that having so many superstars hugging me did make me happy. We have to raise our heads now and thank Colombia for their support.”
He added, “We are sad because we wanted to keep going and set new records. We gave everything to reach the semi-final, but we have to be proud because we played a great side. I'm crying because we gave everything we had inside of us. The referee didn't help us. Men cry too."

Fans Booed Kanye West, 'We Pay For Music, Not Rants'

Kanye West's self-entitlement continued on Friday night after he launched into a 20-minute rant mid performance at the London Wireless Festival. Kanye paused his performance to talk to the crowd about discrimination in the fashion industry and his promise to marry Kim seven years ago.
"People be looking at me like I got a problem or something. Like I’m uncontrollable, that I do what I’m not supposed to do.’ Turning his attention to the media, Kanye said ‘They control everyone with rumours & lies. They steal you from you & sell you back to you.’
To the crowd, Kanye asked: ‘How many people here think they’re awesome and have had people say they’re not their whole lives? What have I ever done other than believe in myself?’
They say they won’t negotiate with celebrities…like I’m a terrorist or stupid. I’m not going to name names, I’m not going to mention any names but...
Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall asks PM for $100M flood relief advance

During the province's daily flood update call with media Saturday morning, the premier unexpectedly spoke up on the line. Usually the call includes representatives of government departments involved with emergency management, such as the Ministry of Highways, Government Relations and Social Services.
Wall said he had just gotten off the phone with Prime Minister Stephen Harper. The premier explained he asked Harper for an advance of $100 million for disaster assistance in light of the flood damage felt across the province all week.
"We're going to follow that up with a quick note, but I am pretty optimistic we are going to see some support there," said Wall.
It is the same amount the province requested in an advance for flood relief assistance in 2011.
According to the premier, the cost of flood damages in 2011 amounted to $360 million. Wall said he expects the amount needed to deal with the flood aftermath this year will exceed the 2011 total.
"We think the number will be a lot higher than the $360 million of 2011, which was just basically the damage, the repair and not necessarily the economic impact. Because in this case, we have oil leases now inaccessible. We have farmland under water. So in addition to whatever numbers I am talking about right now, there will be an economic impact and is too early to assess that just yet."

Pakistan Lahore court indicts five over honour killing
![]() |
| The murder of Farzana Parveen caused outrage among Pakistan's tiny but vocal civil society |
A Pakistani court has charged five
men, including a father and two brothers, for the murder of a woman beaten to
death outside a Lahore court for marrying without their consent.
Farzana Parveen, who was three months pregnant, was pelted with bricks and bludgeoned to death.
Witnesses have been told to deliver statements before the Lahore High Court court on Monday.
The killing triggered fury in Pakistan because of its cruel and brazen nature.
It was all the more controversial because Ms Parveen's husband alleged that police had done nothing to save her.
"The court today indicted the father, two brothers, one cousin and ex-husband of the victim for murder, torture and terrorism," investigator Mian Zulfiqar told the AFP news agency.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif demanded "immediate action" over the murder, which drew international criticism.
The US described the killing in May as heinous while UN human rights chief Navi Pillay described it as "deeply shocking".
There are hundreds of so-called "honour killings" in Pakistan each year.
Arranged marriages are the norm in Pakistan and marrying against the wishes of the family is unthinkable in many deeply conservative communities.
Ms Parveen came from a small town outside Lahore.
Jay Z and Beyonce cut ties with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian
It looks like the Carters feel the Wests are bad for their image! Sources claim Jay Z and Beyonce have cut all contact with Kanye West and refuse to let Blue Ivy have a play-date with North West…
From OK Magazine
From OK Magazine
An insider tells OK! that Jay Z and Beyonce have ceased all contact with pal Kanye West and his bride Kim Kardashian, who had spent the last two years pushing to get closer to the stars.
“When the rappers were on tour, Beyonce was forced to sit with Kim at shows and hang with her after, and she put up with it through gritted teeth,” says the source.
Now the newlyweds have even been spending more time at their New York apartment, just two blocks away from Jay and Beyonce’s home there, in a bid to get North to Bond with Blue Ivy. However, the insider says the superstars are fed up with being associated with the Kardashian brand.
“Bey and Jay feel like they’ve been dragged through the mud with all the drama surrounding their absence at the Kimye wedding,” says the source, adding that Jay has actually been moving away from his former BFF for some time. “Jay made it clear to Kanye that he doesn’t approve of the choices he's making in his personal life and it will end in disaster for his career.”

Brazilian Team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar revealed the unfortunate news to Brazil's SportTV:
"Neymar had a scan, which confirmed he had fractured his third vertebra. It's not serious in the sense that it doesn't need surgery, but he’s in pain and he’ll need to immobilise it to recover. He’ll have to have it immobilised with a belt for a few weeks to be able to get back to full mobility. Unfortunately, he's not going to be able to play." he saidNeymar, who suffered the injury after colliding with another player, was carried off in tears on a stretcher towards the end of their 2-1 victory over Colombia. He will be unable to play for about a month, ruling him out of Tuesday's semi-final against Germany.

Petra Kvitova
swept past Canada's Eugenie Bouchard with a stunning performance of controlled
power to win her second Wimbledon title.
The Czech sixth seed reclaimed the title she first won in 2011 with a 6-3 6-0 victory in 55 minutes.
It is the 24-year-old's second major title and will see her move up to fourth in the world rankings.
Bouchard, 20, had made history by becoming the first Canadian to reach a Grand Slam final.
Eugenie Bouchard arrived at Centre Court with cool confidence and a ruthless tennis game to match.
Bouchard, a 20-year-old Canadian, had captured the affection of her country and of the British tabloids, her looks, play and marketability drawing gawking comparisons to Maria Sharapova.
Bouchard now has something else in common with Sharapova. She, too, has been dominated by Petra Kvitova in a Wimbledon final.

A Toronto Sun report, published Thursday, quotes an unnamed 30-year-old woman from London, Ont., who says she has been corresponding with Bernardo since last fall. CTV News has not been able to verify the report.
The woman has reportedly told her friends that Bernardo, who remains in prison, is innocent and was a "bystander" in the rapes and killings of schoolgirls Kristen French and Leslie Mahaffy. She also told The Sun that she has wedding bands, and has gotten a recent tattoo that says "Paul's girl" on her ankle.
He is a kind man, a Christian, a very nice man," she told the Sun.
The woman's family told the paper that they have been trying to dissuade their daughter from marrying Bernardo, and that she is now reconsidering her decision. They said she started writing to Bernardo for "research" for a book she was writing.

A statement published online late on Wednesday announced the appointments of colonel-general Valery Heletey as defence minister and lieutenant-general Viktor Muzhenko as chief of the military's general staff.
Poroshenko also appointed Yury Kosyuk, an agriculture magnate and one of Ukraine's richest men, to oversee defence issues in the presidential administration, and promised to "purge the army of thieves and fraudsters".
Accusations of corruption have been rife as Kiev's operation against the rebels continues.
Kiev has struggled to assert control over the country's industrial east, where fighting between government troops and pro-Russia separatists has killed more than 400 since April.
Meanwhile, foreign ministers from Russia, Ukraine, Germany and France agreed on Wednesday on a series of steps for a resumption of the ceasefire in eastern Ukraine where fighting between government troops and pro-Russia separatists has taken more than 400 lives since April.
The steps include reopening talks no later than Saturday "with the goal of reaching an unconditional and mutually agreed sustainable cease-fire'' to be monitored by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, their declaration said.
Fighting in eastern Ukraine has increased since a much-violated 10-day ceasefire expired late on Monday.
Manitoba Declares State of Emergency
Manitoba Premier Greg Selinger has ordered officials to prepare for a controlled breach of flood water as parts of the province face rapidly rising water levels along the Assiniboine River.
Selinger said the flood forecast worsened just hours after he declared a state of emergency earlier Friday.
“We are now looking at a higher crest and the water is moving more quickly than anticipated,” he said.
The Assiniboine River is expected to crest in Brandon tomorrow and Portage La Prairie on Tuesday.
“Preparations are under way for a controlled breach at the Hoop and Holler Bend to reduce the high possibility of an uncontrolled breach,” Selinger said.
It’s the same area where Selinger ordered a controlled breach in 2011, which at the time threatened 150 homes.
Meanwhile, the Canadian Forces will once again step in to help Manitoba residents cope with widespread flooding after a spring of heavy rainfall.
Members of the 1st Regiment, Royal Canadian Horse Artillery, based out of CFB Shilo, have been recalled to help with sandbagging efforts in Portage La Prairie, CTV’s Mercedes Stephenson reported Friday.
The 2nd Battalion, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry remains on standby.
Selinger said troops are needed to protect about 200 rural homes at risk of being deluged with water from the Assiniboine River.
Soldiers will help fill and distribute some 500,000 sandbags that will be used to hold off water around homes, Selinger said, adding that he has been in touch with Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
"Additional assistance is required for our flood preparations," Selinger said. "These measures will allow our officials to take the necessary actions to help protect the safety, health and welfare of Manitobans."
Worse than 2011 flooding
Officials have warned residents that flooding could be worse than in 2011, when damage costs topped $360 million.
