Incredible transformation of gun victim who had most extensive face transplant ever performed

When Richard Norris, who lives in a remote home in Hillsville, Virginia (far right), shot himself in the face in 1997 he lost his nose, lips, tongue and jaw. He had dozens of surgeries that left him with a new face each time (far left). But doctors have now turned the 37-year-old's life around after performing one of the most complex face transplants in history, giving him new features, teeth, muscles and nerves. While he used to always wear a mask and only shop at night, he now he barely turns a head when he ventures outdoors (centre).- dailymail UK
