RIP Alan Thicke, Veteran Canadian Singer, Songwriter and Actor

Alan Thicke, a Canadian singer, songwriter and actor best remembered for his portrayal of a father who was the ultimate suburban middlebrow dispenser of advice to his children on the television sitcom “Growing Pains,” died on Tuesday. He was 69.

His death was confirmed by the talent agent Nigel Mikoski, who represented Mr. Thicke. He died of a heart attack, Carleen Donovan, a publicist for one of his sons, the singer and songwriter Robin Thicke, said in an email.

Mr. Thicke had a genial warmth that he projected across all of his television work, most memorably on “Growing Pains,” which ran from 1985 to 1992. He played a psychiatrist, Dr. Jason Seaver, a classic 1980s formulation of the reassuring father, and solved everyone’s problems with a warm homily by the end of each 30-minute episode.

After 2 years together, Johnny Depp, 51, has reportedly married his girlfriend, actress Amber Heard, 28. According to People magazine, the pair got married at their home in LA on Tuesday Feb. 3rd and will hold another ceremony at Johnny's private island - Little Hall's Pond Cay in the Bahamas this weekend.

Actor Michael J Fox's Parkinson's Disease Treated With 'Brain Drilling'

The doctor treating Michael J Fox’s Parkinson’s Disease has spoken about using the ‘unconventional’ method of drilling holes into the actor’s brain.

Clinical neurologist Dr Allan Ropper has said that the treatment is ‘highly effective’ in lessening the tremors that Fox is suffering.

However, Ropper added that he received some ‘heat’ for using the method from the outside medical community.

“It was highly successful,” he told the BBC’s Radio Five Live.

“Though I took a lot of heat for it, because it was not a conventional procedure.

“Some people with Parkinson’s who start with a tremor and who are young at the onset, ironically, do extremely well in the long run.

Actor Gary Oldman's Fourth Wife Files For Divorce

It seems poor Gary Oldman is unlucky in love. After a year of separation, the 56-year-old actor and his wife, 36-year-old jazz and electronica singer Alexandra Edenborough, have filed for divorce in Los Angeles, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple married on New Year's Eve 2008.

"Alex and I had several great years together, and we shared a great love during that time; but there is big difference in our ages and ultimately that gap inevitably revealed different lifestyle interests," Gary said in a statement. "While I have been sad about this for over a year, I am grateful for the good times we did have, and we remain friends. Of course I wish Alex the best happiness in the future."

This will be the fourth divorce for the award-winning actor. He was married to U.K. actress Leslie Manville (the mother of his first child). This was followed by a marriage to Pulp Fiction star Uma Thurman. Gary and his third wife, Donya Fiorentino, have two sons together.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a married man, with People magazine reporting that the Looper star and longtime girlfriend Tasha McCauley tied the knot on Dec. 20.
