Two yr old shoots himself dead with dad's gun inside family car

Two yr old Kaleb Ahles shot himself dead with his father's gun which he found in the glove compartment of their family car. The sad incident happened yesterday January 21st . The mum told Florida police that she and Kaleb's dad had been moving out of their home is Eastlake Florida and had left Kaleb inside the car briefly to pick some things when they heard a loud bang from inside the car.

They ran to the car to find the toddler had mistakenly shot himself in the chest with a .380 calibre loaded handgun. The parents said they began performing CPR but he was pronounced dead after arriving at a local hospital.

The man charged with first-degree murder in Quebec’s 2012 election shooting has been given one last chance to find himself a lawyer ahead of his trial.

Quebec Superior Court Justice Guy Cournoyer authorized a 30-day delay in the case Monday to allow Richard Henry Bain to undergo a court-ordered evaluation that should take place next week.

The judge ordered Bain, 64, to find an attorney before the case resumes Feb. 20.

Bain is also charged with two counts of attempted murder stemming from an attack outside a downtown Montreal club where then-PQ leader Pauline Marois was toasting her party’s election victory on Sept. 4, 2012.

Alberta RCMP officer shot while investigating a car theft dies

An Alberta Mountie who was shot in the head while investigating a vehicle theft in a community just outside Edmonton last weekend has died.

RCMP say Const. David Matthew Wynn, a husband and father of three sons, died in an Edmonton hospital this morning.

They say the 42-year-old officer never regained consciousness after he and an auxiliary officer, Const. Derek Bond, were wounded at a casino in St. Albert early Saturday morning.
Bond was struck in the right arm and torso, but was released from hospital several hours after the shooting.

Deputy RCMP Commissioner Marianne Ryan says in a statement that the force has lost a dedicated member in the line of duty.

Mounties say there will be a regimental funeral for Wynn in the Edmonton area, with details to follow. RIP David

RCMP need more protection after St. Albert shooting, says Kash Heed



The shooting of RCMP officers Derek Bond and David Wynn in St. Albert, Alta., highlights the need for more protection for Mounties, according to B.C.'s former solicitor general.

“We need to outfit our police officers, give them the tactics, give them the training … to ensure they go home each and every day,” said Kash Heed, also a former chief of the West Vancouver Police Department.

Aux. Const. Bond and Const. Wynn were injured while trying to arrest a man in a casino early Saturday morning.

The RCMP is promising to learn from the Moncton shootings on June 4 that killed three officers and wounded two others.
On Friday, the RCMP said all of the recommendations in a review by retired assistant commissioner Alphonse MacNeil will be acted upon, and promised to keep the public updated on their progress.
The MacNeil Review includes 64 recommendations.
In the RCMP response, Assistant Commissioner Bob Paulson says deadly threats to police are not going to go away.
"It is our obligation — our duty — to make sure that we can be as prepared as humanly possible to meet these threats, having regard for who we are and where we live," Paulson said.

Another Deadly Shooting Accident After Charlie Hebdo Magazine Paris Attack

Barely 24 hours after the tragic terror attack on the offices of French satirical magazine, Charlie Hebdo, a second deadly shooting has occurred.

Two men armed with assault rifles shot at a policewoman and a street cleaner after their car was involved in an accident.

The officer was shot, and subsequently died from her injuries, The Independent reports. One of the gunmen was arrested, and the other is said to have fled.

According to reports, the street cleaner was also shot and critically wounded while trying to disarm one of the gunmen.

Police authorities are currently searching for the assailant who absconded, as well as the other two gunmen from yesterday’s attack.

Gunmen Kill 12 in Shooting at Paris Satirical Newspaper
Masked gunmen wielding Kalashnikovs and a rocket launcher killed at least 12 people and injured 10 more at the Paris offices of satirical French newspaper Charlie Hebdo on Wednesday before escaping. French president François Hollande called the shooting "unquestionably a terrorist attack."

Two of the dead are policemen; the French cartoonists Cabu, Tignous, Wolinski, and Charb (the magazine's publisher) are all reported dead. A policeman at the scene of the shooting told reporters "it's carnage."
