Aww! Pope hugs little girl who asked him why God allows little girls become prostitutes

Pope Francis who is currently in the Philippines was moved to hug these two children after one of them, 12 year old Glyzelle Palomar, a rehabilitated homeless girl, asked him in tears why God could allow children to become prostitutes. 

"Many children get involved in drugs and prostitution. Why does God allow these things to happen to us? The children are not guilty of anything.” Palomar said during her speech at a Catholic mass

Pope Francis who couldn't find an immediate answer for her question, got up and gave a hug. He later replied her and the congregation saying

“She is the only one who has put forward a question for which there is no answer and she was not even able to express it in words but rather in tears. I invite each one of you to ask yourselves, 'Have I learned how to weep, how to cry when I see a hungry child, a child on the street who uses drugs, a homeless child, an abandoned child, an abused child, a child that society uses as a slave?” He said

When Pope Francis visits the Philippines next week, traffic enforcers won’t let the capital’s streets get gridlocked if they have to answer the call of nature.

About 2,000 traffic enforcers who will be on duty during the Jan. 15-19 papal visit will be required to wear adult diapers, said Metropolitan Manila Development Authority chairman Francis Tolentino.

Tolentino also encouraged people who will wait for hours to see the pope to also wear diapers.

The prospect of wearing diapers while on duty was “well received” by his men, he said Wednesday.

Fire Outbreaks Destroys Philippines Shanties

A huge fire that was believed to have been ignited by firecrackers razed nearly a thousand shanties and killed three people in a creekside slum in the Philippine capital of Manila.

It was one of more than a dozen fires across the country linked to raucous New Year’s celebrations.

A spokesman for the Bureau of Fire Protection said nearly a thousand houses, mostly shanties and huts, were destroyed, displacing about 4,000 poor families.

Yet another as AirAsia plane carrying 153 people overshoots runway in Philippines

Not again! Two days after an AirAsia airliner carrying 163 people plunged into the sea, another one carrying 153 passengers overshot the runway at an airport in the Philippines today December 30th, forcing passengers to disembark the aircraft on emergency slides.

The incident occurred at Kalibo Airport in Aklan province in Philippines according to a journalist Jet Damazo-Santos who was on board and shared the photo above on Twitter. "Engine was shut immediately, we were told to leave bags, deplane asap. Firetruck was waiting,' she said

There have been no word from AirAsia officials about this latest incident but according to Jet, no passenger was injured in this latest mishap.

Canada to help Philippines with typhoon

Finance Minister Joe Oliver says the federal government is trying to determine how it can help the Philippines in the wake of another typhoon that has hit the Asian country.

Oliver says a team is already heading to the Philippines to help Canadians on the ground there, while further assistance is available if needed.

He says federal officials are closely watching the situation and are in touch with the Red Cross and other groups in the Philippines to get a sense of the damage.

The storm slammed into the central Philippines’ east coast late Saturday, knocking out power and toppling trees in a region where 650,000 people have fled to safety.

Oliver told reporters in Toronto that another response team is getting ready for “rapid deployment” to help assess the typhoon’s impact and make recommendations on how Canada can help.
