New reports shows India girls found hanging from tree were not murdered, but committed suicide

The two teenage Indian girls who were found hanging from a tree in May were not murdered or raped, that is what The Indian Central Bureau of Investigation claimed today. The cousins, 15 year old Pushpa and 14 year old Murti had gone missing on May 27th after they told their family they wanted to go use the toilet in a nearby field. They were later found hanging from a mango tree in the remote village in Uttar Pradesh.

The girls were initially believed to have been gang-raped and murdered by five Indian men but the CBI says that's not what happened.
"Yes, we have cracked the Badaun case. Our probe found that the two girls had committed suicide and weren’t murdered,” CBI director Ranjit Sinha said

The CBI also claimed that the girls had not been “sexually assaulted or raped”, according to the Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD) in Hyderabad - a verdict that was also confirmed by a medical board.
