Prince William and Kate arrived at a small village off the coast of B.C. on Friday in a replica 15-metre Haida war canoe, taken to the remote island by paddlers wearing T-shirts opposing liquefied natural gas development.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were welcomed to the Haida heritage hall by more than a dozen chiefs and elders.

Young dancers in brightly coloured and beaded costumes performed a dance to honour the survivors of Canada’s residential schools and their personal journeys.

Buckingham palace denies Prince Andrew sex allegations

Buckingham Palace on Sunday stepped up efforts to defend Prince Andrew after the British royal was embroiled in claims of sexual impropriety with an underage woman, USA Today reports.

In a second statement since the claims surfaced, officials “emphatically denied” allegations by an unidentified woman who said she was forced to have sex with the royal when she was under the age of 18.

The woman named 54-year-old Prince Andrew, known as the Duke of York, in papers filed with a Florida court last week. The filing was submitted as part of a lengthy lawsuit against American financier Jeffrey Epstein, who the woman claims forced her to have sex with prominent people, including Prince Andrew. The woman was only identified as “Jane Doe Number 3” in the papers.

Royal officials on Friday denied “any suggestion of impropriety with underage minors” by Andrew, and strengthened that stance Sunday after two tabloid newspapers published details of interviews with the alleged victim. The controversy has dominated British news coverage since Friday.

Actress Ellen Page Speaks Out Against The Queen Of England

CASSIE STOKES ET
Actress Ellen Page is calling out Queen Elizabeth for honouring anti-gay politician, Maurice Mills, in her 2015 New Year's Honours list. The list, which features over 1,000 names from public figures to politicians, credits the controversial Irish councillor for his “services to local government.”

Ellen, who came out to the world last February, did not hold back her feelings when she tweeted "f**k that" in response to an article on the issue earlier today.

The actress isn't the only one who's surprised by the decision; a petition has been started to have Mills' honour revoked.
