OMG! Kenya school children tear-gased for protesting against a developer who 'grabbed' their playground

Pupils of Langata primary school in Kenya were this morning tear-gassed by Kenya Police following their protest against a certain land developer who they say 'stole' part of their school's land which is their playground. The land developer wants to turn it into private property.

According to reports from Kenya, the school authority had written to the government asking for help to stop their land from being taken over by the developer but their letters were not attended to. Seeing that their teachers were helpless, the school children decided to hold a protest in front of their school this morning.

 

They however got more than they bargained for as the police tear gassed them, which caused a stampede. Five of the children have been rushed to the hospital at the moment. More pics below

Saudi blogger Raif Badawi second flogging delayed to allow wounds to heal

Saudi blogger Raif Badawi earned a reprieve from his scheduled flogging on Friday after it was postponed because the wounds from his first 50 lashes hadn’t sufficiently healed.

Badawi has been sentenced to 10 years in prison and 1,000 lashes over 20 weeks for a blog criticizing Saudi Arabia’s clerics.

The first 50 blows were delivered last week.

“We know that at the time of the first flogging session, he saw a doctor beforehand,” Amnesty International Canada spokeswoman Mireille Elchacar told The Canadian Press.

”It may seem strange and, indeed it is, but it was to ensure he was in good enough physical shape to receive the lashes.”

A teen in Ohio says she was ambushed by six women who took turns brutally beating her on Christmas Eve — then spread photos and videos of the attack on social media to humiliate her.

Cheyanne Willis, 19, says she was pulling into the parking lot of a suburban Cincinnati mall with her then boyfriend, Quincy Gardner, when he parked and pulled her out of the car. A group of six women, including two she knows, was waiting for her and allegedly took turns kicking and beating Willis, slamming her face on a car hood and shaving her head...

Chinese Woman Carrying Baby in Handbag Sparks Outrage

26-year-old Chinese mother, Xue Hsueh, thought it would be a great idea to carry her nine-month-old son in her designer bag, and take a picture. She subsequently posted it online, Metro UK reports.

Shortly after posting the picture, Hsueh, received widespread criticism from most people online who saw the image.

However, she has defended her actions, claiming that the baby was only in the handbag for a short period of time. She also said she did as a joke as she was talking to her friends about what would happen if the responsibility of childcare was left in men’s hands.

Hsueh also stated that her son was enjoying himself and having fun, and that she only posted the picture to make people smile.

James Duncan Keats fired as sexual assault case continues.  The Nova Scotia paramedic accused of sexually assaulting a 71-year-old patient has lost his job.

James Duncan Keats is on trial in Windsor for allegedly assaulting the woman twice: once in her home and another time during an ambulance ride to hospital.

Keats was suspended from his job when the charges were first laid, but a spokeswoman for Emergency Health Services says they have since fired him after details revealed in court show he violated their ethical code of conduct.

Is This Life! Saudi Woman Arrested For Driving

A woman who tried to drive in defiance of a ban on women drivers in Saudi Arabia has been arrested after being blocked at the border with the United Arab Emirates for a day, activists said along with many users on social media. Saudi Arabia is the only country in the world which does not allow women to drive.

"I have been at the Saudi border for 24 hours. They don't want to give me my passport nor will they let me pass," Loujain Hathloul, the arrested woman said in a tweet.

This Has To Stop! 12 Year Old Boy Shot by Cleveland Police

A 12-year-old boy with a replica gun was shot and killed by Cleveland police over the weekend.

 

Police authorities had received a report about a 911 call in which someone reported that a juvenile was scaring people with a gun that was “probably fake,” USA Today reports.

 

Officers arrived at the scene on Saturday and the boy, Tamir Rice, pulled the fake weapon. According to reports, he did not point the gun at the police or make any verbal threats. One of the policemen shot him twice in the torso. He died on Sunday at MetroHealth Medical Center.

 

In the aftermath of the incident, Jeff Follmer, president of the Cleveland Police Patrolmen’s Association, said “the officers were not told the 911 caller thought the gun might be fake.”

 

Rice’s gun was an “airsoft”-type replica gun, a BB-gun type gun that looked like a semi-automatic pistol.

 

The case is currently under investigation.

Police Officer Shoots Unarmed Man In Brooklyn, NYC

An unarmed 28 year old Brooklyn man was shot dead on Thursday night November 20th and police say it was just an 'unfortunate tragedy' because he wasn't targeted.

The victim, Akai Gurley, (pictured above) had spent the evening at his girlfriend’s apartment inside the Louis Pink housing projects. The couple left the seventh floor apartment around 11:15 p.m. and tried to take an elevator down to the bottom floor. When the elevator wouldn’t work, they entered the stairwell."

At the time, her children were taken into care while she was arrested then charged with felony abuse.
People all over the world empathize with Shanesha Taylor as she was viewed as a struggling woman eager to provide for her family against all odds.

After the news went viral, donations poured in – totalling approximately $114,000.

Prosecutors also offered her a lenient plea deal which would allow her avoid jail. All she had to do was put $40,000 in a trust fund for her children along with other minor requirements. The original amount for the trust fund was actually $60,000 but this was reduced by prosecutors, yet Shanesha still did not fulfil her commitment.

Miss Honduras 2014 was killed by her jealous sister's boyfriend

The boyfriend of Sofia Trinidad, the older sister of 19 year old 2014 Miss Honduras, Maria Jose Alvarado, has been identified as the killer of the beauty queen and her sister.

Plutarco Ruiz (pictured right) admitted to gunning down Sofia, 23, after flying into a rage after seeing her dance with another man at his birthday party, where the girls were last seen alive and then turned the gun on Maria because she was a witness to the murder of her sister. She was actually running when he shot her twice at the back. 3 other men have been arrested in connection with the murders.

After he killed the women, he and his accomplices buried them near a riverbank close to where the party was held.

Ruiz took police to where he buried the bodies in the mountainous region near the border with Guatemala. He told police that they dumped the bodies in graves to speed up decomposition.

WTF! Indonesia police force female recruits to undergo 'virginity tests'

According to Human Rights Watch, the organization fighting to get the practice abolished - female police recruits who make only 3% of the country's police force, are being forced to take 'virginity test' before they begin training.

The Indonesia police recruitment website says, ‘All women who want to become policewomen should keep their virginity."

The female police officers who have undergone this test, which examines them to make sure their hymens are still intact, say its ‘painful, traumatic and really upsetting’ and are asking that it be stopped.

"I feared that after they performed the test I would not be a virgin any more. It really hurt. My friend even fainted because … it really hurt, really hurt.’ a recruit told HRW

Human Rights Watch say they are working with the government to get rid of the practice as its ‘discriminatory and a form of gender-based violence’.

We are used to Eminem calling out top female music stars in his songs but he may have taken it a little too far this time. In his new song titled, Vegas, the 42 year old rapper graphically depicts dragging Australian rapper Iggy Azalea by his Humvee and then raping her.

This pregnant woman and the little boy, believed to be her son (pictured above) were usually seen on a street in California begging for money every weekend. After collecting money from sympathetic passersby, the woman and the little boy will then drive away in a Mercedes Benz, counting their money and laughing with another man believed to be her husband. Is This Right? Eminem Raps about Punching Lana Del Rey in the Face

Even though a lot of Eminem’s music has always been violent (especially towards women) his rap game took a mellow tone over the years but now it seems the old Eminem is back.

His latest violent verse comes in this cypher video for Slim Shady Records, in which he verbally attacks singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey. He raps: “Play nice? Bitch, I’ll punch Lana Del Rey right in the face twice, like Ray Rice in broad daylight in the plain sight of the elevator surveillance/’Til her head is banging on the railing, then celebrate with the Ravens.”

The fact that Eminem references one of the most sensitive examples of domestic violence to happen this year, between NFL player Ray Rice and his wife, has left a lot of people deeply offended.

In his past songs Eminem has attacked Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Mariah Carey and his favourite woman to verbally abuse, his ex-wife Kimberly Anne Scott.
