Police Arrest Man For Facebook Post Threatening To Kill Darren Wilson

Federal authorities on Tuesday arrested a man from Washington state for allegedly threatening to kill Darren Wilson, the former police officer who killed 18-year-old Michael Brown on Aug. 9 in Ferguson, Missouri.

Jaleel Tariq Abdul-Jabbaar, a 48-year-old from Kirkland, Washington, is charged with three counts of making interstate threats because of threats he allegedly posted on Facebook against Wilson and his family. Authorities said he was taken into custody on Tuesday morning without incident.

It is unclear how exactly authorities focused in on Abdul-Jabbaar, but the key FBI agent on the case is currently assigned to an international terrorism squad, part of the Joint Terrorism Task Force out of the the FBI's Seattle Field Division.

Police have picked up two suspects after they released surveillance photos of the pair, who are accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of Canada Goose winter jackets from a Tuxedo area store last month.

The thieves smashed through the front window of the outdoor clothing business in the 2000 block of Corydon around 6 a.m. Nov. 16 and made off with more than 40 Canada Goose winter jackets valued at $15,000.

Police released the photos on Monday morning, and tweeted out Monday afternoon that the suspects had been located

A mysterious woman, carrying a blood stained knife, was caught on CCTV walking down the street in New Orleans and randomly stabbing passers-by.

The New Orleans Police Department, who said the incident happened on Nov. 30th shortly before 9pm, is now asking for the public’s assistance in locating and identifying this woman.

They believe she'd stabbed others before she was captured on surveillance video stabbing two men, a 28 and 62-years-old, who sustained minor lacerations

Winnipeg: More than 2000 speeding tickets tossed after error

More than 2,000 speeding tickets in Winnipeg are being cancelled or refunded due to an administrative error.

The tickets are being tossed because they cite the wrong section of a recently changed provincial law on speeding in construction zones.

Police say a computer used for photo radar had not been updated to cite the new section of the law.

A demoted worker shot and critically wounded his company's CEO before fatally shooting himself Thursday inside a downtown high-rise office building in Chicago's bustling financial district, police said.

Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy said a worker at a technological company pulled a gun after entering the 17th-floor office to meet one-on-one with his CEO. There was a struggle for the gun, and the CEO was shot twice before the gunman fatally shot himself, McCarthy said.

McCarthy said the company was downsizing and "a number of people," including the alleged shooter, were being demoted.

"Apparently he was despondent over the fact that he got demoted," McCarthy said.

The 54-year-old victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition, while the 59-year-old alleged gunman was pronounced dead at the scene. Their names haven't been released.

The office is in the Bank of America building, which is two blocks from the Willis Tower, the country's second-tallest skyscraper, and a block from the Chicago Board of Trade and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.

Officers were called to the scene around 9:50 a.m. and found two men on the floor in an office, police spokesman Martin Maloney said.

Workers said they received emails from the building security at about 10 a.m. telling them there was a security situation in the lobby and to stay at their desks. A few minutes later, someone came over the intercom to tell them everything was clear.

"We didn't know what to think," said Jay Patel, who works on the 11th floor.

Dr Nikita Levy killed himself shortly after he was fired from the hospital

Johns Hopkins Hospital in the US state of Maryland has agreed to pay $190m (£111m) after some 8,000 women joined a legal case claiming a gynaecologist had secretly recorded them.

Dr Nikita Levy, who killed himself last year, reportedly used cameras in pens and key fobs to tape patients.

Lawyer Jonathan Schochor said all of the women had been "brutalised" and described it as a "betrayal".

The settlement is believed to be the largest of its kind in US history.

The hospital said in a statement that one individual "does not define Johns Hopkins".

"It is our hope that this settlement, and findings by law enforcement that images were not shared, helps those affected achieve a measure of closure," the statement said.

Levy's misconduct was first brought to light by a colleague, who saw a pen camera around his neck.

Authorities later discovered more than 1,200 images and videos clips of patients on hard drives in Levy's home.

The women also alleged that Levy ordered an "excessive number" of invasive exams and engaged in inappropriate physical contact.

An investigation later determined Levy participated in the misconduct on his own and did not record underage patients.

Levy was fired by the hospital on 8 February 2013 after the allegations came to light and was found dead 10 days later.

Former NFL star and current Montreal Alouettes Chad Johnson seems to be having a little trouble reading French-language parking signs, and is looking to the city’s mayor for help.

Early Tuesday, the player formerly known as Chad Ochocinco tweeted at Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre, saying he’s racking up parking tickets because he can’t understand the street signs.

Johnson is trying to revive his football career in Montreal after an 11-year NFL career, much of that spent with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Over 166 career games, he caught 766 passes for more than 11,000 yards and 67 touchdowns. He’s been out of the NFL since 2011, when he was charged with a domestic battery offence.
Johnson signed a two-year deal with the Alouettes earlier this year.

What a waste. Such a fine specimen of a man! Nate Estimada, one of the stars of male revue and E! reality movie 'Men of the Strip' (male stripping), committed suicide on Wednesday June 18th by driving his car off a cliff, TMZ reports

The 24-year old reportedly drove his Mustang in a mountainous area near the City of Industry in L.A. County during the daytime and accelerated off the cliff, dropping at least 40 ft. into a landfill.

 Authorities have determined the plunge was intentional and they're conducting toxicology tests to determine if drugs were in Estimada's system.

young woman who stopped her car on a Quebec highway to help some ducks cross the road is now on trial, accused of causing an accident that killed a father and his teenage daughter.

A Montreal court heard Tuesday that Emma Czornobaj, now 25, stopped her car on Highway 30 four years ago to tend to a family of ducks that was attempting to cross the road.

Prosecutors allege that action led to the crash that killed Andre Roy, 50, and his daughter Jessie, 16. The pair was on a motorcycle that slammed into Czornobaj’s stopped car.

Czornobaj, who was 21 years old at the time of the June 2010 accident, has been charged with two counts each of criminal negligence causing death and dangerous driving causing death.

Court heard that she allegedly stopped her car in the left lane of Highway 30 in Candiac, Que., without activating her hazard lights.

An eyewitness testified that she saw Czornobaj walking on the side of the highway to help the ducks cross. It was 7:30 p.m., the sun was going down and visibility was diminished, the witness said.

That’s when Roy came by on his motorcycle, with his teenage daughter sitting on the back. His wife, Pauline Volikakis, was behind them on another motorcycle.

Prison Break: Three Canadian Prisoners Escaped Orsainville Prison

Three Canadian prisoners made a daring escape from Orsainville Detention Center, near Quebec City, Saturday evening when a helicopter dropped down and picked them up, according to the AP.

 

The helicopter flew off toward the west and the men were not immediately recaptured. The escape happened about 7:45 p.m. local time.

Provincial police identified the escapees as Serge Pomerleau, Yves Denis, and Denis Lefebvre.

A police spokeswoman told NBC the helicopter had only the pilot onboard and that it landed somewhere on the prison grounds to pick the men up. Lefebvre and Lamontagne were both arrested in 2010 during a massive drug bust, according to CBC. During the bust, police confiscated a plane, 41 vehicles, and a stockpile of weapons, among other things. They are believed to have connections to the Hells Angels.

 

The prison break is the second time in less than two years that a helicopter has been used to free Canadian prisoners. The previous incident happened in March of 2013 when a pilot was forced at gunpoint to pick up two men from another prison in Quebec, according to the AP.

An alarming number of radicalized Canadians are joining foreign jihadi groups abroad, prompting calls for intervention as other Western nations boost efforts to stop their citizens from waging attacks at home or on foreign soil.

CBC News has learned of as many as two dozen Calgarians who, in the last two years, departed for Syria to join extremist rebel groups.

 

France intercepted four people suspected of trying to recruit militants to fight in Syria last week, following the arrest of a French citizen who joined a militant group in Syria and then returned to carry out a deadly shooting at a Jewish museum in Brussels last month.

In April, Bosnia introduced a 10-year prison sentence for citizens caught fighting in foreign wars — a move aimed at curbing recruitment for the Syrian conflict.

That same month, British counterterrorism police appealed to Muslim women in a national campaign to dissuade male relatives from going to Syria to fight alongside extremist Islamist groups there.

Some suspected jihadis have been detained at the airport upon landing in the U.K.

But critics say there has been little public outreach in Canada to stop the radicalization from happening here, before young men leave these shores. Such pre-emptive measures may be overdue.

Mahdi Qasqas, a Calgary Muslim youth leader and psychologist, says early intervention is key to preventing young men from going overseas to kill themselves and others.

Two 12 year old girls, Anissa Weier (pictured left) and Morgan Geyser (pictured right) lured their classmate, another 12 year old, into the woods last Saturday after a sleepover, where they stabbed the girl 19 times hoping to kill her so they could join the cult of the 'Slender Man' after reading about him on the internet. Thing is; 'Slender Man doesn't exist. It's a mythological horror creature that was created by a website in 2009. The gholish child killer has since become a viral sensation.

But the little girls believed so much in it they planned their friends murder for months. Fortunately the girl didn't die but Morgan and Anissa are being tried as adults and face 65 years in prison.

Son of Football legend, Pele, sentenced to 33 years for money laundering

 

A judge in Praia Grande, in Sao Paulo state of Brazil has sentenced Edson Cholbi do Nascimento aka Edinho, the third son of legendary footballer Pele, to 33 years imprisonment for laundering money raised from drug trafficking.

 

This is not the first time the 43 year old goalkeeping coach will be sent to jail for drug related issues. In 2005, Edson was arrested and served a sentence for drug trafficking offences and links with a notorious drug dealer in the city of Santos. Edson has denied the charges of money laundering but admits he has a problem with drugs.

 

He was convicted alongside four others including a man accused of controlling much of the drug trafficking in the region - Ronaldo Duarte Barsotti, known as Naldinho. Reports says he's most likely to appeal the judgement soon.

Justin Bieber is apologizing after a years-old video surfaced showing the then-teenager telling a racist joke.

In a statement Sunday to The Associated Press, Bieber said when he was a kid he didn't realize how certain words could hurt. He says he learned from his mistakes and apologized for them, and now is apologizing again because they have become public.

The British tabloid The Sun first published the video, which is five years old. In it, a then 15-year-old Bieber tells a joke about black people that has a racial epithet as the punchline. Before he says it, someone warns him not to — but he says it anyway amid laughter. something to do with the 'N' word.

The 20-year-old Bieber says ignorance has "no place in our society" and he hopes that others won't make the same mistake that he has.

A pregnant Pakistani woman was stoned to death by her own family in front of a Pakistani high court - for marrying the man she loved, UK Daily Mail reports

 

Nearly 20 members of the woman's family, including her father and brothers, attacked her and her husband with batons and bricks in broad daylight.

As the couple walked up to the court's main gate, the family members fired shots in the air and tried to snatch her from Iqbal, he said.

Hunger Games Director's Son Kiiller Elliot Rodger's Six Victims' Names and Faces Revealed

 

On Friday May 23rd, Elliot Rodger the son of Hollywood movie director, Peter Rodger went on a crazed shooting spree for being rejected by girls and being a virgin at age 22.

 On Friday May 23rd, the privileged 22 year old son of Hunger Games assistant director Peter Rodger, Elliot Rodger took his own life after killing 6 people and leaving 13 others wounded in Isla Vista near the University of California, Santa Barbara.

The Santa Barbara City College student, who was angry at the world for still being a virgin at 22, posted a chilling video hours before he went on rampage warning of ‘retribution’ because girls rejected him.

The killer, who had Asperger’s syndrome and was in the care of several therapists, started by stabbing three of his roommates to death around 9.30pm on Friday then armed himself with three handguns and drove to nearby Alpha Phi sorority. According to law enforcement agent, Elliot knocked on the door but no one would let him in and that was when he spotted two women standing outside the sorority and fired shots at them killing two of them, Katie Cooper, 22, and Veronika Weiss, 19.

After the shooting, Elliot Rodger returned to his black BMW and drove to IV Deli Mart in Golita where he shot dead 20-year-old UCSB sophomore Christopher Martinez, an unsuspecting bystander.

In the video posted hours before the killing spree, Elliot ranted about women rejecting his advances.
