According to Mozart ‘Love is the soul of the genius’. As Homo sapiens we were conceived from a love conjunction of two individuals that we call ‘birth parents’. We were made in love and live for love. We crave for love and had to share love ourselves. Love keeps the human race orbiting. The genius in us is being called out when we are arrested by the divinity of love.

Since we are birth by love, we daily seek love. Before the age of social media, we seek to satisfy this crave for love by being vocal about it and making our intentions known by different cues in popular culture.  In recent, the advent of technology has made the onerous task seem invincible where you can easily drive love by the number of text characters, type of emoticons and smileys in a person’s status update on a social media tool.

Social media has offered the current generation one of the most unique platform to connect with family and friends seamlessly real-time. Facebook is the colossus giant ruling this space and have at least 2 out of every 7 person connected on the social networking triangle. You can easily share photos, videos, send messages and update personal status. The first thing Facebook ask you is to update your status, it goes like ‘what’s on your mind?’ You know deeply down your answer – you crave for attention and love. In the real sense, Facebook can connect you with people and at most give you ‘likes’ but it is not capable of giving love. You seemly cannot judge the quality of life by the number of Facebook likes.

We are often relegated to the thought that the mistakes we make defines us as we are all human. I resent such character appropriation. How we ‘right’ our wrongs defines us. No matter how deepened are the wounds, sullen the relationship or messy that fallout; we failing to act to correct our wrongs is building a comfy palace of mistakes.

The power you give to an opinion can become a stumbling block or stepping stone for your progress. In this piece I want to consider when an opinion is aimed at bring down rather than building up. No one has ever existed without the ‘haters club’ or escape the backlash of the disciples of conspiracy. In front of many; people like Pope, Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela or Mahatma Gandhi, even Jesus can do no good. Yet they went on to fulfill their assignment. Sometimes we give spine to the thoughts of those who don’t pay the bill.

Where are these haters? They are everywhere. Not just that random guy who messes up your tweets or that old friend who disses you on Instagram. They are everywhere. They are in workplace, community and even family members. To move ahead, you do not need not look for them but past them. When they attack you, just ignore and move on. Don’t focus on them, focus on your focus.

Have you ever considered the world made of only men? That would have been the most unimaginable boring world. In popular old culture, the masculine gender runs the show. They are everywhere, from the factory, office to the fore front of technological advancement. Could this be that the ‘man’ is the only entity that can keep the human race and animal world fuelled.

When you look into history either through the lens of the evolution of man by Charles Darwin or creation as documented in the book of genesis. The man is a product of the woman, yet the woman is the by-product of the man, so the man is intertwined with the woman. ‘Wo-man’, not only is a man with womb but a man with much width- the curves and cleavages. Say no more, son!

A full man cannot resist the sight of a beautiful woman. As I traverse the road to work every morning in my rugged steel grey Toyota, I can’t but pause to notice and see beautiful women driving past me. This almost got me a photo radar ticket. Was this attraction or a distraction? Speed fines will tell? Got about three now, oh pity me! The man naturally is insufferably turned on the sight of a beautiful woman. What of the non-beautiful woman. To be honest, I have never met one. There is just some about the feminine gender. The beauty lies is different packages and the beholder. The beauty of some women are crystal clear and glaring to those who have eyes, others had to be the voice. Some women unique virtues lies in their culinary skills, others dressing, some their wifely attributes or home management.

Why Can't We Make Marriage A Three Year Renewable Contract?

Divorce rates are soaring, the younger generation has abandoned committed relationships, and marriage is redundant in a world in which women are self-sufficient, or so the story goes at least. Desperate times call for desperate measures, and a willingness to entertain legal reforms to marriage that a generation ago we would have considered completely absurd.

One such proposition is to take the long-term commitment out of marriage and, instead, have marriages that automatically expire after a fixed term of three or four years. Couples who wished to remain married at the end of the contract would have the option of hiring a lawyer to renew their contract for another fixed term, while those who wished to split would be spared the expense, and stigma, of a divorce

Let’s ignore for a moment the fact that divorce rates in Canada today are no higher than they were 30 years ago, and that the overwhelming majority of young people plan to marry one day, and that women who are capable of being self-sufficient are actually more, not less, likely to be married. What would we lose by replacing the current “until death do us part” approach to marriage with a series of short-term contracts?

New reports details Canada’s environmental shortfalls


Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s government is not doing enough to reduce carbon emissions, fight climate change and regulate oil and gas emissions, a series of audits from a federal watchdog have found.

The audits, contained in a report published Tuesday, say Canada has no detailed plan to meet its emissions reduction targets, is on pace to fall well short of meeting them and has made no long-term commitment to environmental monitoring in the oil sands region, the fastest-growing source of emissions.

he report offered a sweeping critique of many environmental policies of Mr. Harper’s government, but it was Canada’s poor record on emissions reduction that stood out to Julie Gelfand, the Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development appointed earlier this year.

“My biggest concern is it does not look like Canada will meet its international [emission reduction] commitment. I think that when you make a commitment, you need to keep it, and it’s very difficult for us, for Canada, to expect other countries to meet their commitments when Canada can’t meet its own,” Ms. Gelfand said at a press conference in Ottawa Tuesday. “So the biggest issue I have, when I look at all the chapters, is that the evidence is really not strong that the sector-by-sector approach [to emissions reduction] is going to help Canada achieve its target. Canada is not working with the provinces. There’s no overall plan, national plan, for how we’re going to achieve our target. And climate change is affecting all Canadians.”

Taylor Hatala’s tandem dance video with choreographer Laurence Kaiwai has more than 7 million YouTube views since it was posted two weeks ago. The video was shot at the KORE Dance Studio in Edmonton, and uses original choreography by Kaiwai. See video below

Hatala’s dance moves recently caught the eye of Ellen DeGeneres, and Hatala and Kaiwai appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show on Wednesday.

Hatala’s family and friends held a viewing party on Wednesday to watch her appearance on ‘Ellen.’
“We’re so proud of her,” Hatala’s aunt, Jackie Smith, told CTV Edmonton.
