Imagine This Giant Shark At Your Backyard

Many in Southwest Florida are used to having some wildlife in their backyard. In this case, the wildlife was a shark. An 8 to 9 foot bull shark has been swimming very close to the condos that line Hickory Boulevard. Residents say it’s not the first time.

Neighbors say people are chumming — throwing bait into the water — which is causing the sharks to return. Now, they are asking the city to get involved and prohibit fishing as well as designate the area as a swimming only area. See video below after cut

A Canadian diplomat's teenage son accused of involvement in a drug-related shootout that killed his older brother in Florida has been charged with murder and will be tried as an adult.

A Miami-Dade County grand jury indicted 15-year-old Marc Wabafiyebazu on first-degree felony murder charges Wednesday.

Wabafiyebazu's defence lawyer, Curt Obront, said his client will plead not guilty.

"We have confidence in the criminal justice system and look forward to moving forward through judicial process," Obront said.

Two yr old shoots himself dead with dad's gun inside family car

Two yr old Kaleb Ahles shot himself dead with his father's gun which he found in the glove compartment of their family car. The sad incident happened yesterday January 21st . The mum told Florida police that she and Kaleb's dad had been moving out of their home is Eastlake Florida and had left Kaleb inside the car briefly to pick some things when they heard a loud bang from inside the car.

They ran to the car to find the toddler had mistakenly shot himself in the chest with a .380 calibre loaded handgun. The parents said they began performing CPR but he was pronounced dead after arriving at a local hospital.

Florida Jameis Winston to Declare for 2015 NFL Draft

Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston already had a Heisman Trophy and national title under his belt by the end of his redshirt freshman season.

Court trial delayed for Canadian in Florida sex tourism case

Trial has been delayed for a Canadian man accused of travelling to Florida to have sex with someone investigators say he believed was an underage boy.

U.S. District Judge K. Michael Moore agreed to delay trial for Rene Roberge of Sherbrooke, Quebec, until Jan. 26. It had been set to begin Monday. Court papers show the case likely will end in a plea deal.

Authorities say Roberge flew to Florida after making contact on the Internet with undercover investigators posing as a 14-year-old boy and his father to arrange a sexual encounter. Agents also allegedly found child pornography on Roberge’s tablet computer.

Florida Man decapitates mother with axe on New Year’s Eve

Christian Gomez, 23, (pictured left) has been arrested for decapitating his own mother's head with an axe on New Year's eve at her home in Tampa because she asked him to put some boxes away, Florida police say.

His brother called police to report the gruesome scene and when the police arrived, they discovered the headless body of 48 year old Maria Suarez-Cassagne (pictured right) near some garbage cans. Christian, who is said to be schizophrenic and has a history of mental illness, had fled in a bicycle before the police arrived but was arrested a few blocks away from the home.

When arrested, Florida police claim Christian admitted to killing his mother, saying he had been plotting his mother's murder for two days because he was tired of her nagging. He'd hit his mother over the head with the axe, then cut her head off her in the garage and then dragged the body to the garbage outside the hom

Charles Kondek (pictured left), a 45 year old police officer and a 17-year veteran of the local police department was shot and killed yesterday Dec. 21st in Tarpon Springs, Florida, by 23 year old Marco Antonio Parilla Jr (pictured right), a fugitive wanted for a parole violation.

The married father of six was killed while responding to a noise complaint at an apartment complex. According to reports, Kondek arrived at the complex and saw Marco confronting another man with a gun in his waistline. When Marco spotted the officer, he immediately opened fire, killing the officer.

He then stole a car and ran over the cop he'd just shot but he then lost control of the car and hit a power pole. That was where he was apprehended by back up police.

Marco later told police he killed Kondek because he did not want to return to prison. He has now been jailed on first-degree murder charges.

A 19 year old Florida man Pascal Kaufmann (pictured above) has been arrested for allegedly raping and beating his 3 year old step-daughter to death, Charlie Brame died in hospital on Monday Nov. 24th. Police say she died from severe brain trauma & had signs of recent 'sexual & aggravated abuse'

According to Orlando Sentinel, the little girl was rushed to the hospital after Kaufmann reported she'd stopped moving at their home on Saturday November 22nd. When paramedics arrived at the home, the little girl was struggling to breathe, with bruises covering her back and head.
