Canadian Singer Nelly Furtado & Husband Demacio Castellon Split After 8 Years

Canadian-Portugese singer and songwriter Nelly Furtado has confirmed that she and her husband of 8 years Demacio Castellon have split.

The 38-year-old singer made an appearance on ITV’s Loose Women on Wednesday, where she spoke about the split.

She said; “I am single now, Someone here needs to update my Wikipedia—it’s not helping my dating life!”

“I went through an emotionally difficult time last summer and I actually wrote and sung myself songs to get through it, I would sing to myself while I drove on these long drives and I thought to myself, ‘I’m so lucky that I can write songs because I can soothe myself with them.’” She added.

Mel B's husband has slammed speculation that he was responsible for her scratched and bruised appearance on The X Factor judge on Sunday. Mel B came back for the show's live final after being admitted to hospital in agony on Thursday night.

There had been no explanation from the 39-year-old former Spice Girl for her hospital admission, which caused her to miss Saturday's episode of the show.

But concerned viewers pointed out that she appeared to have 'a swollen face', a bruise on her cheek and scratches on her upper arms as she appeared for the show on Sunday night, speculating her husband, Stephen Belafonte was involved as Mel wasn't wearing her wedding ring.

Stephanie Moseley, a dancer and actress from Vancouver, was killed by her rapper husband who then turned a gun on himself, according to Los Angeles police.

Officers responding to reports of a shooting and a woman screaming on Monday morning heard more shots fired when they arrived at a high-end apartment complex, said the L.A. Police Department in a news release.

Moseley, 30, had been shot several times, while her husband, Earl Hayes, 34, suffered what appeared to be a single gunshot wound to the head, said Det. Scott Masterson.

Investigators are treating it as a murder-suicide.

Moseley trained at the Pacific Arts Ballet in Vancouver, Danzmode in Burnaby, and Kirkwood Academy in Nanaimo, according to her website.

"Steph was a true talent; very humble, gracious and it's just horrible," Danzmode instructor Rachel Poirier, who taught Moseley for six years, told CBC News. "Everybody admired her so much … She's probably one of my students that I talk about the most because I'm so proud of her and her success."
