Wait For This! Women Should Get Paid Menstrual Leave
| Gedis Grudzinskas |
“Some women feel really grotty when menstruating. Coming into work is a struggle and they feel lousy. When you feel like that, it’s harder to take pride in your work or perform as well. This is about employers being sensible and aware.
During that period, most women experience psychological and physiological discomfort.
It would be one to three days each month, separate to sick leave entitlement – it is not sickness, after all,” he said.
Menstrual leave is already reportedly being practiced in countries like Indonesia and Japan.
The practice is said to have emerged in the 1920s and 1930s, when female employees were young, and working conditions were hectic. Due to a lack of sanitary materials for managing menstruation, it was difficult for women, especially those in the transportation and factory industries to cope.
According to reports, “there was also a belief that taking leave while menstruating prevented problems during pregnancy and childbirth, such as miscarriage and premature labour.”

Piers Morgan Addresses Ferguson police officer, Darren Wilson

Darren Wilson is the first 6ft 4in, 210lb five-year-old in history - by Piers Morgan
"When I grabbed him, the only way I can describe it is I felt like a five-year-old holding Hulk Hogan…that's just how big he felt and how small I felt from grasping his arm.'
This is how Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson justified shooting black teenager Michael Brown. Reading this particular piece of evidence from the vast dump of Grand Jury documents released last night, it'd be impossible not to sympathize with Wilson.
A lone 'small' policeman in a patrol car confronted by a gigantic Hulk. There's just one problem. Wilson, by his own admission in his police interview, is 6ft 4in tall, the exact same height as Michael Brown.

Reese Witherspoon Comments On Renee Zellweger's Recent Facial Ridicule!
And she's not staying quiet about it!
If you need a refresher, the Bridget Jones's Diary actress looked nearly unrecognizable at Elle's 21st annual Women in Hollywood Awards in October…
So the Wild star decided to address the criticism lobbed at Renee during a roundtable discussion for The Hollywood Reporter.
On the defense, she said:
"It's horrible. It's cruel and rude and disrespectful, and I can go on and on and on. It bothers me immensely."
The actress further elaborated on how it's unfair that women are most often targeted and ridiculed for their looks:

Actress Turn Author Advises Women To Give Their Men BJ Everyday

"What I say in the book is, "A BJ a day keeps the divorce attorney away" and I say that because I feel like men are profoundly simplistic, which is the reason I wanted to call my book what I used as the title of chapter three, which is, "Stomach Full, Penis Empty: A Woman's Guide to a Happy Marriage."
Keeping him fed and drained, you have no problem. We are really more complicated than they are and I think that women are more generous with oral sex because we nurture by nature. We want to be pleasing by nature, that's in our DNA, so I think that a lot of the behavior we're looking for sexually, you might have to educate your partner.
Sometimes, men just assume they're going to get it and you need to be like, "Give me mine. Ladies first."

Ebola News: WHO disapproves of Canadian Ebola visa ban
| Isabelle Nuttall, Director of the Alert and Response Department at WHO, speaks during a press conference on Ebola at the European headquarters of the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014. Martial Trezzini/AP |
Canada appears to have used a loophole — a rather large one — to justify to the World Health Organization its decision to stop issuing visas to residents and nationals of Ebola-affected countries.
The global health agency says Canada’s new policy contravenes the spirit if not the letter of the International Health Regulations, but there is nothing the WHO can do about it.
International health law experts have said Canada’s policy, announced Oct. 31, is a violation of the International Health Regulations, known as the IHR.
That treaty stipulates that in a global public health emergency, countries shouldn’t take actions that impede international trade or travel beyond what the World Health Organization has recommended. And if they do, the WHO can ask them for the scientific evidence underpinning the move.

How Obama and the Democrats lost the election - CNN Analyst
Gloria Borger, CNN Chief Political Analyst
Back in 1994, when Newt Gingrich led the GOP to take over the House, it was historic. A sea change. An earthquake.
Why? Because Democrats had held control of the House for the previous 40 years. As in four decades. Imagine that. Hard to believe it ever worked that way. Now voters demand change elections more often than they don't. Consider this: Republicans win the Senate in 2002, then lose it in 2006. The Democrats hold the Senate until losing control of it last night -- predictions are that they might be in a good position to take it back in two years.
At some point, someone might start listening: Voters are steaming. They're anxious. They're also not expecting Democrats and Republicans to suddenly write poetry together. But here's one thing they do expect: competency. As in: figure out a way to do your job without continually kicking the proverbial cans down the road
In a pre-election interview with CNN earlier this week, Vice President Joe Biden told me that the "President and I have to figure out how to better communicate."

Oops! Bank of Canada governor urges jobless young Canadians to work for free

Advocates for young workers took Stephen Poloz to task Tuesday after the Bank of Canada governor recommended that jobless university graduates beef up their resumes by working for free.
Speaking to a House of Commons committee, Poloz suggested young Canadians and others struggling to find work should acquire more experience through unpaid internships or volunteering until the country’s hobbled job market picks up. He predicted it would improve over the next two years.
Poloz told the committee that when a young person asks for advice on getting through the tough times, he says, “‘Volunteer to do something which is at least somewhere related to your expertise so that it’s clear that you are gaining some learning experience during that period.'”
The central banker made the remarks a day after he told a Toronto business audience that 200,000 young Canadians are out of work, underemployed or back in school trying to improve their job prospects.

KimYe & North West Crowned First Fashion Family
Former Editor at Large at Vogue, Andre Leon Talley, crowned reality TV star Kim Kardashian West, rapper/designer Kanye West and their baby North West as the “First Fashion Family” in a recent write up for Zappos Couture.
“It’s the new FFF: First Fashion Family – Kimye and Baby North. The three were a force of iconic moments as they pivoted around Paris, the mecca of fashion during the last fashion shows this month. The Nick and Nora Charles of our time, the Liz and Dick Burton, without the brawls.”
Also on their style, Kim recently defended her sexier clothes since motherhood to Grazia, saying,
“I don’t think I’ll be that mum that is frumpy,”‘That’s not really me. Apparently [dressing sexier] is typically what happens when you have a baby… My style has become sexier since becoming a mum. I’m more bold. You would think that I would tone it down and wear sweats and flats all day but I don’t feel good wearing that. It’s just how I like to dress. It’s the same thing since I got married.”
