Two men were hurled from the top of a tower block, two more were crucified in front of a baying crowd and a woman was stoned to death in the latest series of horrific executions by ISIS.

The men were thrown from the roof down to the crowd below in the brutal punishment for being gay.

Actor Michael J Fox's Parkinson's Disease Treated With 'Brain Drilling'

The doctor treating Michael J Fox’s Parkinson’s Disease has spoken about using the ‘unconventional’ method of drilling holes into the actor’s brain.

Clinical neurologist Dr Allan Ropper has said that the treatment is ‘highly effective’ in lessening the tremors that Fox is suffering.

However, Ropper added that he received some ‘heat’ for using the method from the outside medical community.

“It was highly successful,” he told the BBC’s Radio Five Live.

“Though I took a lot of heat for it, because it was not a conventional procedure.

“Some people with Parkinson’s who start with a tremor and who are young at the onset, ironically, do extremely well in the long run.

Sierra Leone President summons prayer over Ebola

Sierra Leone President Ernest Bai Koroma asked the country to begin a week of fasting and prayers on Thursday to end the Ebola virus that has killed more than 2,700 of his countrymen, Voice of America reports.

The worst outbreak on record of the virus is still spreading in West Africa, especially in Sierra Leone, and the number of known cases globally has exceeded 20,000, the World Health Organization said on Wednesday.

In a New Year’s Day broadcast, Koroma said the seven days of prayers and fasting would begin immediately. “Today I ask all to commit our actions to the grace, mercy and protection of God Almighty,” he said.

The death toll from the outbreak, which has been mostly confined to West Africa, has risen to 7,905, the WHO said, following 317 fatalities recorded since it last issued figures on December 24.

Yet another as AirAsia plane carrying 153 people overshoots runway in Philippines

Not again! Two days after an AirAsia airliner carrying 163 people plunged into the sea, another one carrying 153 passengers overshot the runway at an airport in the Philippines today December 30th, forcing passengers to disembark the aircraft on emergency slides.

The incident occurred at Kalibo Airport in Aklan province in Philippines according to a journalist Jet Damazo-Santos who was on board and shared the photo above on Twitter. "Engine was shut immediately, we were told to leave bags, deplane asap. Firetruck was waiting,' she said

There have been no word from AirAsia officials about this latest incident but according to Jet, no passenger was injured in this latest mishap.

A massive sea search was underway for an AirAsia plane that disappeared Sunday while flying from Indonesia to Singapore with 162 people on board through airspace possibly thick with dense storm clouds, strong winds and lightning, officials said.

More than 12 hours later, shocked family members huddled at the Surabaya airport from where the Airbus A320 had taken off, awaiting any news of the jetliner operated by an airline whose parent company is based in Malaysia. It is the third incident involving Malaysia this year following two of the worst aviation tragedies that hit Malaysia Airlines — in March Flight 370 disappeared with 239 people and in July Flight 17 was shot down over Ukraine, killing all 298 people on it.

Indonesia and Singapore launched a search and rescue operation for Flight 8501 near Belitung island in Java Sea over which the jetliner lost contact with ground traffic control, about 42 minutes after taking off from Surabaya, Indonesia’s second largest city. The flight had completed a little less than half of its journey time to Singapore.

One million people have been wounded during Syria's civil war and diseases are spreading as regular supplies of medicine fail to reach patients, the World Health Organization's Syria representative said.

A plunge in vaccination rates from 90 percent before the war to 52 percent this year and contaminated water have added to the woes, allowing typhoid and hepatitis to advance, Elizabeth Hoff said in an interview late on Thursday.

More than 200,000 people have been killed in Syria's conflict, which began in March 2011 with popular protests against President Bashar al-Assad and spiraled into civil war after a crackdown by his security forces.

"In Syria, they have a million people injured as a direct result of the war. You can see it in the country when you travel around. You see a lot of amputees," said Hoff. "This is the biggest problem."

Flags are flying at half-mast across Pakistan today as the nation marks three days of mourning of the 141 people, which included 132 children (ages 12-16) who were killed in a brazen attack on a military school yesterday in the northwestern city of Peshawar. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announced it was a brutal attack that was regretful and declared three days of mourning for the slain children.

The Pakistani Taliban (TTP) who have claimed responsibility for the attack have also warned civilians to distance themselves from security personnel or be killed alongside them, as they intend to attack more.

Another terrorist reportedly went into another classroom which had 60 students in it and blew himself up, killing most of the students. So far, 132 children have been confirmed dead in the massacre.

The insurgents were said to have had inside information before carrying out the well planned attack and there are people who believe the brutal attack was in revenge of Malala winning the Noble Prize while some say the school was attacked because the students aspired to be soldiers. At least 126 people, more than 100 of them children, have been killed in a Pakistan Taliban attack at an army school in Peshawar, according to provincial officials.

Many children escaped but some are still being held hostage. Hours after the initial assault, reporters at the scene said they could still hear firing and explosions.

Pakistan helicopter gunships hovered above the school but were unable to open fire because children were still being held.

Six or more attackers, dressed in army uniform, mounted the assault on the school for the children of army personnel shortly after 11am. Hundreds were in the school at the time.

Canadian pop singer Avril Lavigne suffering from health issues?

The Canadian pop singer hasn’t been spotted in public since September. Now she’s reportedly told a fan through a direct message on Twitter that she’s been unwell.

The fan had been asking Lavigne what she’s been working on in her absence.

In a screenshot of the conversation posted by @AvrilMusicChart, Lavigne appears to respond to the fan’s questions: “I feel bad because I haven’t been able to say anything to the fans to let them (know) why I’ve been absent . . . I’m not feeling well. I’m having some health issues. So please keep me in your prayers.”

Later, Lavigne — who has been married to Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger since 2013 — responded publicly with a “thank you” to the same Twitter user, who had tweeted the hashtags #GetWellSoonAvril and #PrayForAvril. Fans are now using those hashtags to offer their support for Lavigne.

It’s all fueling speculation over what may be ailing the 30-year-old singer from Napanee, Ont. There have been no updates on Lavigne’s official website since April, and there are no upcoming events for the “Hello Kitty” singer currently scheduled.

These reported health woes come on the heels of lingering speculation over issues in her marriage. But Kroeger squashed the reports on a recent ET Canada appearance, dismissing them as “rumour mill stuff.”

Purported ISIS Video Calls For Attacks On Canadians

A slickly produced video released on Sunday urged Muslims to launch indiscriminate attacks against Canadians, similar to those carried out in October in Ottawa and Montreal.

The SITE Intelligence Group, an American based company that monitors trends within the global jihadist movement, said the video was produced by the Islamic State and the Levant. It was also been distributed on Twitter and jihadi forums.

On the video a man, who says he is a Canadian and identifies himself as "Abu Anwar al-Canadi," urges his Muslim countrymen to follow the example of Martin Couture-Rouleau.

The National Post identified the man as John Maguire, a former University of Ottawa student who converted to Islam and became radicalized before leaving Canada last year. The newspaper cited friends and family.

The 23-year-old is among dozens of Canadians under RCMP investigation after allegedly making their way to Syria.

Comedian Bill Cosby’s Hollywood Walk of Fame Star Vandalised with Word ‘Rapist

Comedian Bill Cosby’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was vandalized on Friday with the word “rapist” written over it.

This happened after numerous women came forward in recent weeks alleging Cosby had sexually assaulted them in incidents dating back decades.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce said Cosby’s star, which was defaced with a marker pen, was being cleaned up. The organisation filed a police report citing vandalism of a registered California state landmark.

“When people are unhappy with one of our honourees, we would hope that they would project their anger in more positive ways,” the organisation said in a statement.

More than a dozen women have come forward saying Cosby, 77, sexually abused, groped and in some cases drugged them in incidents dating back to the 1960s.
