Albinos Killed in Tanzania for Money & Power Rituals

Albinos

Tanzania has banned soothsayers in order to protect albinos, dozens of who have been killed in recent years for their body parts which are used in power and wealth rituals, media reported on Wednesday.

Home Affairs Minister, Mathias Chikawe announced the creation of a task force comprising representatives of the government and the Tanzania Albino Society (TAS) to investigate the killings.

About 70 albinos, people born without pigmentation have been killed in the east African country over the past six years.

The report says their body parts, ranging from hearts to genitals, are regarded as powerful magical ingredients. However, it said that 10 people have been convicted of murder.

“The new task force will review court cases involving albino killings to make sure culprits did not get away too lightly.

Government Of Tanzania Ban Witchdoctors Over Albino Attack

Tanzania has banned witchdoctors in the country and anyone practising it will be arrested. The ban became very mandatory when witchdoctors believe albinos bring good luck to people when killed and used for rituals, which has seen about 70 albino die in the last three years in the country.

The Tanzanian Albinism Society (TAS) has welcomed the ban, saying they have more than 33,000 members and they don’t know who the next victim would be. I think it’s a welcome idea too, very wicked people.

Unbelievable! Dad sentenced to life in prison for killing his two daughters after fight with ex-wife

The Tanzania man, Charles Mihayo, 36, who murdered his two daughters at his home in Melbourne on April 20th 2014 and then dressed them in floral dresses in an act of revenge against his ex-wife has been sentenced to life in prison.

According to prosecutors, after his wife divorced him, an angry Charles killed his own children just to make their mother suffer. He smothered Savannah, 4, and Indianna, 3, after playing with them.

Though he was sentenced to life in prison, Charles is eligible for parole after 31 years. Charles, who has since regretted his action, has refused to go into details as to how and why he killed the little girls, only saying he deserves to be punished.

Grim human rights reports on forced child marriages in Tanzania are making the government take a hard look at Prime Minister Stephen Harper's top African partner in his signature aid initiative.

The most recent report by New York-based Human Rights Watch interviewed 135 girls and women across Tanzania and concluded that the practice of forced marriage — involving girls as young as seven in some cases — was causing serious harm because of gaps in the country's child protection system.

The report, released with little fanfare last month, urged the Tanzanian government to raise the minimum age for marriage to 18 as a first step towards eradicating the abuse of young people.

The report has implications for Ottawa because Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete and Harper have been the co-chairs of the United Nations Commission on Information and Accountability for Women's and Children's Health since 2010.
