Rewind Clip: Tug of War Battle Between Canadian And US Soldier

Prior to the departure of 31 Canadian Brigade Group (31 CBG) personnel from Camp Atterbury, Indiana, Canadian soldiers observed US National Guard soldiers playing an interesting version of the game Tug of War. 31 CBG soldiers were fascinated by the spectacle and cheered on the competitors. Finally, one young Canadian soldier dared to challenge the hometown crowd, and put national pride on the line. Battle Ready! King of Jordan planning to lead airstrike against ISIS himself?

The king of Jordan, Abdullah II ibn al-Hussein is a trained pilot and there are now reports that he's planning to personally take part and lead revenge airstrikes on ISIS after the brutal killing of one of their pilots, 27 year old military pilot, Moaz al-Kassasbeh.

According to Mail Online, an Arabic-language newspaper said King Abdullah is considering taking part in the bombings  after he reportedly quoted a Clint Eastwood character;

'Any man I see out there, I'm gonna kill him. Any son of a bitch takes a shot at me, I'm not only going to kill him, I'm going to kill his wife and all his friends and burn his damn house down.,' Eastwood's William Munny says in 'Unforgiven.'

Stuart Scott, Legend ESPN anchor dies at age of 49 after long battle with cancer

Legendary Sportscaster and longtime anchor on ESPN Stuart Orlando Scott died today January 4th after a seven year battle with cancer. ESPN announced his death this morning.

Scott, who worked as an anchor for ESPN and ABC Sports for 21 years, was one of the most recognizable figures on US sports television and in July 2014, he received the Jimmy V Perseverance Award at the ESPYs - where he opened up about his battle with cancer.

About that NorthKorea internet brouhaha

Many believe the genesis of North Korea's internet that went down was a retaliation from US. Sony Pictures released a movie called The Interview, a comedy about a fictional assassination of North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un.. North Korean didn't find it funny and hacked into Sony's computers, rendering thousands of computers inoperable and forced Sony to take its entire computer network offline. That wasn't enough, they then threatened terror attack on US citizens if Sony doesn't cancel showing the movie, forcing Sony to pull the interview from theaters and losing almost $200m. Then the US govt got involved and told Sony to go ahead and release the movie, that they don't take lightly to threats and promised to retaliate for the attack on Sony.

Amateur MMA fighter Alan Grays was kicked so hard in the head during a fight in Michigan last week that his eyeball popped out and rolled on the floor.

In the video posted on LiveLeak.com, Alan's opponent Jose Johnston blasted him with a head kick and as he fell to the floor, his eyeball dislodged and rolled away. The ref nearly stepped on it.

Diddy And Drake Nightclub Brawl All ABOUT R-E-S-P-E-C-T

Diddy put them paws on Drake Sunday, December 7, outside of Liv nightclub in Miami. Initially the rumor was that the two had beef over Cassie.

TMZ Reports- It was money, not women, that made Diddy punch Drake outside of a Miami nightclub early Monday morning ...

According to our sources, Diddy confronted Drake just outside LIV nightclub -- where they'd both been partying -- and the topic of conversation was business. During the tete-a-tete, voices were raised and according to eyewitnesses ... Diddy said, "You will never disrespect me" ... and then clocked Drizzy.  

Our sources say it was just the one punch -- Drake was stunned, but not knocked out. One report said the fight was over Diddy's girlfriend, but we're told that wasn't the case.

Drake famously fought with Chris Brown in June 2012 at W.i.P. nightclub in NYC, but that one was over a woman -- Rihanna.

Drake is definitely having a not-so-good week.

After being named during Chris Brown and Karrueche Tran’s relationship drama this past weekend, the Canadian rapper and songwriter has reportedly also been hospitalized following a club brawl with P.Diddy.

According to Rick Ross’s DJ (via BET), the two were partying at LIV in Miami for DJ Khaled‘s birthday party and there was a fight between the hip hop stars and Drake may be recovering from a dislocated shoulder.

MTV News spoke to a source who was in attendance at the Miami hot spot that confirmed there was an altercation between the stars. Though the reason for the tussle is not known, early rumors had already started circulating that it was over Diddy’s girlfriend, Cassie.

Rick Ross’s DJ, DJ Sam Sneaker, however tweeted that it wasn't because of Cassie.

It definitely wasn't about Cassie.

Halle Berry took her baby daddy Gabriel Aubry to court, claiming he's trying to make their 6yr old daughter white. In court documents, Halle said Aubry was straightening and lightening Nahla's naturally-curly hair in an effort to make her appear less Black.

According to TMZ, a judge has ordered Gabriel to stop what he's doing with Nahla's hair. He ruled that neither Halle nor Gabriel could change Nahla's look from its natural state moving forward. The judge is allowing Nahla's hair to grow back naturally.

Mrs. Wolowitz From 'Big Bang Theory' Bids Bye From Battle With Cancer

The actress best known for voicing the unseen Mrs. Wolowitz on the TV comedy “The Big Bang Theory” has died

Carol Ann Susi’s agent, Pam Ellis-Evenas, said the actress died in Los Angeles on Tuesday after a brief battle with cancer. She was 62.

The veteran character actress has made numerous guest appearances on TV shows since the 1970s.

Canada Listed Among Anti-ISIS Coalition Forces

Canada is listed in a press release from U.S. Central Command as one of the coalition nations launching airstrikes against Islamic State forces, marking the first mention since Canadian planes began flying missions over Iraq late last week.

The press release, dated Wednesday, covers airstrikes that were launched on Nov. 3, 4 and 5 against targets in Syria and Iraq as part of the coalition’s operation dubbed Inherent Resolve.

The third paragraph of each press release from U.S. Central command explains Inherent Resolve, and lists the countries that are conducting airstrikes in Iraq, as well as those participating in airstrikes in Syria.

Before Wednesday, Canada was not listed among the nations participating in airstrikes against Iraq. Canadian CF-18s began flying missions last Friday and dropped their first bombs on Sunday.

Battle | Al-Qaeda in Yemen Admits Senior Leaders Killed in Drone Strike

The al-Qaeda branch in Yemen has acknowledged that two of its senior leaders were killed in a drone strike earlier this week, Yemeni media reported on Thursday.

In a rare admission, al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) said that Shawki al-Baadani and Nabil al-Dahab had been targeted and killed in intensified drone strikes on Monday.

The terrorist group had in the past refrained from confirming such killings.

AQAP did not specify the location of the attack.

Al-Baadani and al-Dahab were regarded as among the most dangerous al-Qaeda operatives in Yemen.

Al-Baadani was listed as a global terrorist by the United States, which accused him of involvement in an alleged plot to bomb the U.S. embassy in Yemen in 2012.

He was also accused of being the mastermind of a 2012 attack on a military parade that killed some 100 soldiers in Sana’a.

Europe | Ukraine Accuses Russia of Fresh Troop Buildup Along Border

Ukraine on Thursday accused Russia of continuing the latest military build-up along the border of the two countries.

Spokesman Andriy Lysenko, quoting the Security Council in Kiev that some 60 armoured vehicles, including 50 T-64 tanks, were moved by train to a town close to the border in Russia’s southern Rostov region.

“The vehicles were not marked with national symbols’’, Lysenko said.

NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, said earlier this week that Russian troops were again moving closer to the Ukraine border.

Ukraine and the West accuse Russia of covertly supporting the pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine by training and equipping them and by sending volunteers and Special Forces across the border.

However, Russia denies those accusations.

The situation in the conflict zone remained tense on Thursday.

Authorities in Donetsk said that artillery fire could be widely heard throughout the city.

Ebola News: UNICEF doubles staff in West Africa

UNICEF says it is doubling its staff to fight Ebola in Guinea, Liberia and in Sierra Leone, where children make up 20 per cent of all cases of the deadly virus.

Ebola co-ordinator Dr. Peter Salama of UNICEF says 4,000 children have been orphaned by Ebola.

He said Monday that schools are closed and children are confined to their homes and discouraged from playing with other kids. Salama says “death is all around them.”

His announcement at the United Nations in New York came as Sierra Leone announced that a fifth local doctor has succumbed to the disease. It is a blow to efforts to keep desperately needed health workers safe in a country ravaged by the deadly virus.

The World Health Organization says Ebola has killed some 5,000 people.

Aviation Rumble! Indonesian Fighter Jets Intercept Australia-bound Saudi Plane

Indonesian fighter jets have intercepted a plane carrying Saudi Arabian delegates en route to Australia for allegedly violating Indonesian airspace, media reports said on Tuesday.

 

The Local Air Force Commander, Andi Wijaya, said in Jakarta.

 

Wijaya said that the Gulfstream HZ-103 plane carrying 13 people was forced to land on Monday at the El Tari airport in Kupang, the main town in West Timor.

 

“Those on board included members of an advance team preparing for a visit by a Saudi prince to Australia.

 

“Seven of the passengers are members of the Saudi Government,’’ Wijaya, said

Report said in October, Indonesian fighter jets also intercepted an Australian light aircraft for entering the country’s airspace without clearance.

 

It added that the plane was released after the crew paid a fine of 60 million rupiah (about $5,000).

oops! Canada's First Airstrikes In Iraq May Have Hit ISIL Dump Truck

The first strikes of Canada's air war over Iraq appear to have been aimed at construction equipment belonging to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.

Although the military has been silent about what targets were bombed by two CF-18s during Canada's first air raids of the war, the U.S. command overseeing operations in the Gulf region released a list of the weekend bombing missions.

The only official Canadian acknowledgment came from Defence Minister Rob Nicholson, who said Sunday's attacks took place in the area of Fallujah, a militant stronghold about 71 kilometres west of Baghdad.

Nicholson wouldn't release details, but said more information would be forthcoming at an Ottawa briefing on Tuesday — 48 hours after the mission.

However, U.S. Central Command, based in Tampa, Fla., said four strikes hit a large ISIL unit in the vicinity where Canadian planes reportedly dropped their laser-guided bombs.

The attack apparently destroyed five ISIL bulldozers and one ISIL dump truck used to build obstructions and berms.

It is unclear whether Canadians carried out all of the strikes in the vicinity of Fallujah or if aircraft from other coalition nations were involved.
